At SWST, we're here to meet your unique needs with a range of tailored services. Below, you'll find details about the services we offer, along with helpful information.
At SWST, we have a special focus on paediatric occupational therapy. Offering comprehensive support to children and their families across a spectrum of needs. Our dedicated therapist collaborates closely with children and their families to enhance fine motor skills, gross motor skills, handwriting, emotional regulation, sensory processing, self-care abilities, and more.
Our occupational therapist conducts Functional Capacity Assessments to evaluate daily task performance. These assessments are often used to inform NDIS support plans, reviews and eligibility decisions. We provide detailed reports, empowering clients to access tailored support. Our goal is to promote independence and improve quality of life through personalised assessments and recommendations.
ILO or Individualised Living Option assessments are designed to evaluate clients' living preferences, functional capacity and support needs, informing personalised living arrangements to a maximum of 23 hours of support. OTs collaborate closely with clients to design individualised support strategies, that can be implemented in the client's setting of choice where appropriate, promoting better autonomy and quality of life.
Similar to ILO, Supported Indendent Living or SIL assessments are completed by an OT where a 24/7 level of care is required. The assessment process assists in determining eligibility, an appropriate support ratio and assisting with evaluating suitable housing options and application.
SWST has supported a number of clients in the evaluation of appropriate assistive technology to support their independence and safety. An AT assessment may involve an interview, observations of your current function and discussion of your likely progression and liaising with suppliers to trial AT options where necessary. Once recommendations are finalised the OT will typically complete a letter of support or an AT application to apply for funding for the AT to be included in your plan.
